The story behind Pregame
Chris Campbell was born in Pikeville, Kentucky, and grew up playing baseball and basketball. After playing college baseball at Oakland City University, he earned a master's in education and taught biology and physical science at Lexington Catholic High School, where he was assistant baseball coach on a Kentucky state championship team.
He later returned to school for his M.S. in Physician Assistant Studies and has spent 13 years in interventional pain management — a career he chose after watching the OxyContin crisis devastate his Eastern Kentucky community in the 1990s. Pandemic isolation pulled him into building PCs and learning AI tools, which led to Claude Code and the launch of Pregame.
He still works full-time as a PA and builds in public from South Carolina, where he lives with his fiancé Ashley and their three girls.
